The Omnia history

No one knows exactly when the Omnia® Classic, the quirky little oven, saw the light of day. Stories about how the idea was born and realised are as numerous as the various designs of the oven there have been over the years. The basic construction can be traced back all the way to 19th century Russia. However, this predecessor had very few similarities with the oven we know today. What we know for sure is that the small oven has been around for a long time and is immensely popular throughout the world.

We have evidence that it has existed in its current form since the mid-1940s, probably even earlier. The earliest appearances in various catalogues and magazines are in the mid-1970s. In the mid-1970s Optimus, who then manufactured the oven, merged with Alde. The shape was then made 25 percent larger and the lid, which had been blue, was given the red colour it has today.

Koala Marketing Company has manufactured Omnia® since 2006 and owns the brand.
