Breakfast gratin

Ingredients

4 slices white bread
5 oz (150 g) cheddar cheese
8 oz (200 g) sliced smoked ham
1 shallot
4 eggs
⅔ cups (150 ml) milk
½ cup (100 ml) heavy cream
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
4 oz (100 g) grated cheddar cheese

Our recipes are based on being prepared in an Omnia® Classic Original 2L. Omnia® Classic Maxi 3L is 50 percent larger. Therefore, in most recipes, you can increase the amount by half to double the batch. Start by increasing by half a batch only for recipes where the ingredients will rise in the pan during cooking. The cooking times are the same.

Method

  1. Brush the silicone molds with oil and place in the Omnia mold.
  2. Cut the bread and cheese into approximately ½ inch (1 cm) cubes. Shred the ham. Peel and finely chop the shallot. Layer the bread and cheese with the ham and shallots in the silicone molds.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, salt, and pepper. Spread the egg batter over the bread mixture. Top with the grated cheddar cheese. Cook on the lowest heat for about 30 minutes. Turn off the heat and leave covered for around 5 minutes.
